Below is updated information about the return to campus and the reopening of our library spaces and in-person services. For additional coronavirus information specific to SUNY Erie, please visit

Library Access

The libraries at each campus are open to current members of the SUNY Erie community (students, faculty, and staff) as of Monday, August 2. See the library hours page for updated hours at each location.

Normal in-person services have also resumed, including research assistance and materials circulation (including Course Reserves textbooks, etc.).

Note that access to the library by non-SUNY Erie community members (such as students from other SUNY institutions, alumni, Erie County residents, and other visitors) is currently under review.

Safety Protocols

SUNY Erie will require all students, employees, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask inside campus buildings, including the libraries. See more information about campus guidelines for masking and distancing here:

Hand sanitizer dispensers are located throughout the libraries and masks may be available at the front desks.

Please note that eating will not be permitted in library spaces and study rooms until further notice.

Study Spaces

City Campus Library: “Deep quiet” study spaces on the lower level are available and the group study room can be reserved.

North Campus Library: Open study rooms are open and can be reserved at

South Campus Library: The Quiet Study room is open and the group study and conference rooms (5301N) can be reserved
