Certification Resources

International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) ISCET has helped train, prepare, and test technicians in the electronics and appliance service industry for over thirty years. The Certified Electronics Technician (CET) Program is designed to measure the degree of theoretical knowledge and technical proficiency of practicing technicians.
Electronics Technicians Association International (ETA) ETA began providing third-party assessment through its own certification programs in 1978. Aligning with the ISO 17024 standards, and collaborating with education providers and industry professionals, ETA certifications test the knowledge and hands-on skills needed in today’s electronics industry. The organization currently has Stand-Alone Certifications and Journeyman Certifications for more than 30 certification programs in all electronics-related fields.
International Association for Radio, Telecommunications, and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) iNARTE is a worldwide, non-profit, professional credentialing association which certifies qualified engineers and technicians in the fields of Telecommunications, Electromagnetic Compatibility/Interference (EMC/EMI), Product Safety (PS), Electrostatic Discharge control (ESD) and Wireless Systems Installation.
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commercial Radio Operator License Program FCC rules require that licensees of ship, aircraft, and international fixed public radio-communication stations permit only persons holding the appropriate FCC-issued commercial operator license to perform specified transmitter operation, maintenance and repair duties. To obtain a new or upgraded FCC commercial operator license, you must pass an examination administered by one of the Commercial Operator License Examination Managers (COLEMs).
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) ARRL is the national association for Amateur Radio in the USA. All Amateur Radio operators must be licensed. In the US there are three license classes: Technician, General and Extra. ARRL offers resources to help you prepare for licensing exams and find exam locations in your area.
North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) NABCEP is a volunteer board of renewable energy stakeholder representatives that includes representatives of the solar industry, NABCEP certificants, renewable energy organizations, state policy makers, educational institutions, and the trades. NABCEP’s mission "to support, and work with, the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries, professionals, and stakeholders" is intended to develop and implement quality credentialing and certification programs for practitioners.
