When Earth Day rolls around, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. There’s climate change, microplastics, lead in the water, and so on. So many things you could be doing, so many activities and projects you could be involved with it’s hard to know where to begin! Before you jump in take a deep breath and consider that you don’t have to do everything at once. Even small activities can help contribute to a healthier and cleaner world.
If you are just starting, begin by learning about some of the environmental issues using our Information section. Then find one small thing you can do in your everyday life using our Things You Can Do At Home links. If you want to help out with research and observations, take a look at our Citizen Science links to see if one of the projects looks interesting to you. If you want to find other like-minded individuals in the Western New York area, check out the Local Organizations section and finally if you are looking for more information and inspiration, check out our list of Environmental Podcasts.
Remember you don’t have to be a superhero to save the world
