Maker Lab

Information on equipment and guidelines for using the Maker Lab at North Campus library.

General Maker Lab Guidelines

Access

  • Access to the Maker Lab and use of the equipment is free for SUNY Erie students, staff, and faculty.
  • Standard material is currently provided for free for the 3D Printer, Button Maker, and Cricut.  If users require other materials, arrangements may be made for the use of self purchased materials - contact the Maker Lab librarians for more information.
  • Use the Maker Lab scheduler to reserve the Maker Lab. Your first visit will require a half hour orientation with a librarian. The Lab can be booked for up to two hours at a time. Please reserve your time at least 48 hours in advance. Walk up reservations may be considered depending on the availability of staffing.

Use Policy

  • Use of the space is restricted to SUNY Erie students, faculty and staff. 
  • By making use of the Maker Lab, you agree to use it for lawful purposes that respect the policies of SUNY Erie and the Library Resource Center as well as the safety and well-being of all students, staff, faculty, and patrons.
  • We will not print any weapons or drug paraphernalia.  Maker Lab materials cannot be used for business or sale purpose by users. Failure to comply may result in suspension or loss of Maker Lab privileges and/or removal from the building.
  • Users are expected to conduct themselves in a safe and orderly manner at all times. The Maker Lab has equipment and tools that when used improperly can result in injury. Users will comply with safety guidelines, attend training as appropriate, and obey the instructions of Maker Lab employees.
  • Report any problems with equipment immediately to Maker Lab staff. Users are responsible for any damage caused to the machine and any repair/replacement charges.
