This New York Times article, "We’re Using A.I. Chatbots Wrong, Here’s How to Direct Them," makes a great case for using AI tools like ChatGPT much more effectively, by
- prompting them to generate feedback from specific, trusted sites
- using free, trusted software, like Humata that pairs with ChatGPT and allows users to submit longer academic .pdf's from which it generates summaries, offers insights, and provides instant Q & A
- investing (or co-investing with a working/study group) in the paid version of ChatGPT (currently $20/mo.) to utilize ChatGPT plugins for much more targeted results
Another very useful, free AI product is Summarize.tech, which offers AI-powered video summaries, a great way to get snapshots of longer presentations like you might find on TED Talks, Creative Mornings, The Do Lectures, 99u, Google Talks, or Hubspot.
Also, check out Khan Acdemy's AI in Education page, for teachers getting started in generative AI, getting ready to teach AI, and build lesson plans incorporating AI literacy. Khan Academy has also initiated Khan Labs which hosts their new AI tutoring platform, Khanmigo.
